Born from the demolition of the old Walworth Upper School, the new Walworth Academy is a thriving and exciting school located in the heart of the southeast of London.
Controlled Ltd. was awarded the ongoing Preventative and Corrective Maintenance of the property, with remote systems monitoring for the wide site Fire detection and alarm and security systems.
After a prolonged period during which the legacy smoke beams in the main Sports Hall were frequently knocked out of alignment by sports activities, Controlled Ltd proposed a design and successfully installed a Vesda Early warning smoke detection system. This solution has resulted in a fault-free environment and a return on investment by eliminating costs associated with high-level access plant hire for the old smoke beams and out-of-hours corrective maintenance. All ongoing preventative maintenance is now conducted from the back-of-house operations, while the Sports hall is in use.
